Cuelux nominated for Plasa Award for Innovation
Cuelux has been selected to go forward for final judging in the PLASA Awards for Innovation.
The PLASA Awards for Innovation recognise products which advance the industry by demonstrating a new style of thinking, improving technical practice, or taking a key step forward in terms of safety.
During the PLASA Show Cuelux will be displayed to the judges and the public in both the Innovation Gallery and Visual Productions' booth in Hall 1 #G23.
The winners will be announced during the Awards Ceremony on Monday September 14th at 18h00.
Cuelux nominated for DJ Awards Ibiza
Visual Productions is pleased to announce that Cuelux is nominated for the yearly DJ Awards in Ibiza.
The International DJ Awards in Pacha is the definitive ‘Oscars’ of electronic dance music, with world-wide media coverage encapsulating all TV, radio and press relevant to the clubbing phenomenon.
This year the awards are extended to Technology categories that include Interactive Innovation of the year Best Lighting bundle. Cuelux is one of five nominees in this catagory.

PLASA Business Membership

PLASA is one of the leading professional bodies for those who supply technologies and services to the entertainment, event, communication and architectural industries. Although based in the UK PLASA has a membership comprising of international companies and is dedicated to the development of the international forum for the discussion of common issues including technical standards, trading methods, training and education and industry growth worldwide.
Taking this into consideration we felt it was important to join this association to be involved from the start with the ever changing industry standards and developments that guide this industry towards quality product development. Our membership also underlines are further commitment to and involvement in the UK market.
Prolight+Sound 09 Stand 9.0 B41
At Prolight+Sound'09 in Germany this year we will be focusing on the launch of our innovative and unique entry-level software lighting control programme: Cuelux.
Visitors to the show are invited to visit Hall 9.0 Stand B41 where they will be able to tryout this platform-independent piece of software lighting control on either a Mac OS X or Microsoft Windows. Cuelux is a DMX512 lighting controller for intelligent lights, LED, dimmers, lasers and various other effects; it is shipped with a USB-to-DMX adapter cable.
Key to the design of Cuelux is its intuitive graphical user-interface. It is specially designed to reduce the amount of time required to learn how to operate the software. Combined with its’ affordable price, Cuelux is available to a wide audience of users.
Alongside this new product we continue to develop our other products and will also be displaying the Duple: a USB to DMX-512 dual output and input hardware interface. The Duple enables both VisualDMX and Canvix lighting control softwares to send and receive DMX.
Also premièring will be the latest version of the software interface VisualTouch, upgraded by a stylish new user-interface. VisualTouch is an add-on software tool for creating 100% touch-screen optimized user-interfaces.
SBS Television
Lighting control software VisualDMX has been installed in the Dutch SBS6 TV station to extend their fully automatic studio control system.
Manufacturer of broadcast and TV/Film production equipment, Thomson Grass Valley, approached Visual Productions with a special request: to extend their Ignite studio control-room automation system with a DMX-512 communication interface. Ignite was specified in the upgrade of the news-studio of Dutch television station SBS6. This studio features the popular daily news show ‘Hart van Nederland’ and celebrity show ‘Shownieuws’.
Ignite is a powerful high-tech system that already automates robotic cameras, audio, auto-cue and media content; greatly reducing the required production staff. The added DMX-512 interface would enable Ignite to also take control of the studio’s lighting fixtures.
Visual Productions supplied a VisualDMX lighting control system to do the job. The setup took good use of the versatility of VisualDMX and its interoperability with a large number of communication protocols. The end result showed VisualDMX set-up using a combination of DMX, MIDI and GPI contact closures.
The VisualDMX system was supplied by the Grass Valley’s Dutch representative D&MS and programmed by Arnoud van Laer from Technicolor.
Duple - Now Shipping
The Duple is our new basic hardware interface that enables VisualDMX and Canvix control software to send and receive DMX signal used in professional lighting. It replaces the separate DMX Input and DMX Output interfaces as the USB connected Duple has both a DMX-512 output port and an input port.
We offer the Duple at a great price; we have chosen to develop this new product and maintain the current price for a DMX Output thus offering our customers the Input at no added cost.

Hedcom: new dealer for Finland
We are pleased to welcome Oy Hedcom as our Finish dealer. Pekka Rytilahti Product Manager for the Lighting products at Hedcom felt that Visual Productions Software Lighting controllers would work well at Hedcom, giving him the opportunity to offer software solutions to customers; complimenting their current range of hardware lighting controllers from Compulite.
Rytilahti felt the price and quality of our DIN rail DMX Splitter would also give great opportunities in the fixed installation sector where VisualDMX is aimed. The ease of Canvix is appealing to dealers as it is quick to learn and easier to support – ideal to couple with the Architectural and LED experience of Hedengren, Hedcom’s Mother Company.
