Cue2012
Visual Productions enjoyed a busy week in Rotterdam (NL) during the Cue2012 tradeshow. Cuelux and the CueCore were prominently shown on the booth of our distributor Full AVL.
In the booth itself, the DTS moving lights and LED were controlled by Cuelux and the matrix of DTS FOS LED bars was controlled by Canvix. The main Cuelux system also triggered Canvix by DMX-input, to fully integrate the matrix into the main show running in the booth. CueCores and iPad running TouchOSC were used for demoing features of the individual fixtures on the displays.
IceKart Rucphen (NL)
IceKarting Rucphen (NL) is part of a large indoor ski centre. It's an innovative carting track that is actually claimed to be world's first permanent ice track using electrically powered carts. They hired Frank Delcroix to install LED lights for the 'traffic' lights in the pit lane and along the track. The system had to be fitted with a lighting control system that would allow the operator the use LED lights for controlling the carts. The lights in the pit lane indicate which cart is allowed to take off and which lane incoming carts have to park at. In case of a crash or other incident the lights along the track are used to signal the carts to slow down or come back into the pit. Also, the system had to receive triggers from a dedicated carting software tool.
Frank Delcroix choose a CueCore solid-state controller linked up with an additional GPI for more contact closures. “We have been operational since October and had zero failures. The reliability of this system proved to be 100%.”, says Frank.
The CueCore was programmed by Geert Custers from our Belgium distributor Face.
Independent Bar Orlando (FL)
During LDI in Orlando (FL) we were invited by the Independent Bar in down-town Orlando to come and look at their venue. They use Cuelux for controlling their rig of moving lights, scanners, PAR cans and strobes. Cuelux is running on a MiniMac computer and connected to a MIDI keyboard for direct access to playback buttons.
Ernie Plowden, resident LJ, did a great job programming numerous cue-lists that can be mixed and matched together to keep fresh lighting-look on the dance floor during the long nights in Orlando.
The owner is currently opening up an additional club Tampa (FL), again controlled by Cuelux.
Scheepvaartmuseum Amsterdam (NL)
The Scheepvaarmuseum in Amsterdam (NL) underwent a major refurbishment and now features a glass and steel dome above the courtyard. This dome is fitted with 800 RGBW LED fixtures. Electrical installer Sanberg Licht asked Visual Productions to supply a complete matrix control system including a WIFI connected tablet for selecting between various graphics and effects. In total Visual Productions supplied:
- Canvix matrix server for 8 universes
- VisualTouch touch screen user-interface
- 1x CueCore for protocol conversion with the in-house show control system
- 8x DIN rail DMX splitters
- 1x GPO relais contacts
Plasa 2011
It was another busy week in London. We focused on the new CueCore solid-state lighting controller, which was nominated for the Innovation Awards.
