The Visual Productions office will be closed from 23rd December 2017. The office opens on the 2nd January 2018.
We wish you a wonderful Christmas holiday and we look forward to serving you again in 2018!
In the summer, German industrial metal band, Rammstein, once again embraced a number of European festival stages with their impressive live show. The two lighting directors of the tour, Bertil Mark and Faren Matern, used a total of four TimeCore units from the Dutch manufacturer Visual Productions.
The TimeCore is a modern timecode toolbox. The TimeCore is not just capable of generating timecode, it also follows, converts and displays timecode. It supports and converts between SMPTE, MTC and Art-Net timecode. It can convert between different frame rates. The TimeCore also handles various non-timecode protocols: MIDI. MMC, MSC, RTP-MIDI, sACN, Art-Net, OSC, UDP, TCP and HTTP. This allows the unit to be triggered by many external signals and devices.
TimeCore can be configured as a timecode master and in this case generates a stable timecode signal. Alternatively, it can also be used as a timecode slave. The LCD display shows the current running timecode in real time and the two push buttons are user-configurable.
"We use TimeCore at the key points of our extensive setup," explains Faren Matern. “We use the display to show timecode to all the show elements who are reliant on it”:

“The digital display also shows when the TimeCore starts / pauses etc. which is a great feature.”
TimeCore also has a booster function that amplifies and processes the timecode signal to ensure optimal transmission. "The booster function is very helpful in our case, because we have to cover large distances," continues Matern.
Another feature that proved invaluable is the integrated timecode generator. With this a timecode-controlled show can be tested for functionality, without having to rely on the audio system that delivers the master timecode during the show. This has served well on the Rammstein tour, as Bertil Mark explains:
"We use the timecode generator at Rammstein to test our lines and the system. It helps us make the most of our setup and changeover times. "
"It is also nice that we can assign the push buttons ourselves to adapt the device to our workflows. Overall, the user interface of the TimeCore is super clear and self-explanatory. We are delighted to include TimeCore in the next creative phase!” says Mark.
With thanks to our German distributor LMP Lichttechnik for the interview with Bertil Mark and Faren Matern.

Visual Productions are at PLASA Show 2017 in London this month. They are exhibiting in collaboration with their UK distributor Entedi on stand W60.
In both the Awards for Innovations Gallery and on show on stand W60, will be the newly launched TimeCore: a one-stop toolbox for timecode. This solid-state device delivers a modern approach to timecode shows. It does what a user expects it to and more, as it can generate, follow, convert, trigger and analyse timecode signals including traditional protocols such as SMPTE and MTC, with MMC, MSC, RTP MIDI and the new ethernet-based protocol Art-Net timecode. The TimeCore is also capable of sending and receiving popular show control protocols such as TCP, UDP, OSC, Art-Net and sACN. Utilising these protocols the in-built event system provides you with a timeline that allows you to send triggers to non-timecode capable devices.
The CueCore2 and B-Station will be running elements of the stand for the lighting fixture partners of ENTEDI: CLF Lighting and Portman Custom Lights.
Sales Manager Zoë Castle welcomes you to the stand to discuss how your upcoming projects can be enhanced by the integration of the Visual Productions lighting controllers.
If you would like to pre-book a meeting time then please contact Zoë directly.
Visual Productions will be exhibiting on Booth #25- 823 at the EAS 2017 - IAAPA European Attractions Show. The show runs from 26-28 September in Berlin, DE.
To find out more about the solid-state, multi protocol lighting controls from Visual Productions please drop by our booth or reserve an allocated meeting time with Sales Manager Zoë Castle today!

From our Haarlem based office we offer a full-time job with good conditions. Please contact mr. Maarten Engels for more details.
The TimeCore joined the party at Funhouse XXL in Amsterdam this weekend during the Rainbow City Gay Pride events.
Funhouse XXL organised by Rapido Events features numerous DJ’s and spectacular timecode driven shows. Remco Teunissen of RTN Showsupport chose to implement the TimeCore in the timecode shows that were running lights, sound, laser and special fx alongside the DJ’s. The TimeCore listened to the timecode show, receiving SMPTE signals.
At specific timecode markers the TimeCore started the countdown. The DJ’s were playing until the first trigger, which had been counted down for a few minutes, reached zero. Then the prerecorded timecode show was played back. Just before the end of the timecode show the second trigger started a countdown on the TimeCore so that the DJ was ready to continue again at the end of the timecode show.
Visual Productions will be closed for the SummerTime Week 34.
This means that between Saturday 19th August through Sunday 27th August 2017 we will not be available to give the good, fast level of service, support and Personality Files to you as normal.
Please do see if you can take into consideration these dates when you are planning equipment for your upcoming events and installations. If you need Personality files please post your request on the forum well in advance and we will do our best to supply it to you on time.
For those emergencies that often do just arise, we will be checking on the forum during this time but only irregularly. Please first see if your local Visual Productions dealer is available to also help you!
Thank you for your support and on behalf of the Visual Productions team we wish you all a great, relaxed or busy August!
Prolight+Sound, Frankfurt, is the launch platform for Visual Productions’ new product the TimeCore: a timecode toolbox that performs all tasks related to timecode. It even handles a number of non-timecode protocols such as UDP, TCP, OSC, MIDI, Art-Net and sACN. Bettering all competitive timecode products available on the market today, the TimeCore is available for demonstration on their stand 3.0 D66.
On Wednesday 5th April Director Maarten Engels presents "Protocols for lighting integration" at the Manufacturers Forum in the Forum Ebene C, Raum Substanz. This is a discussion on protocols for lighting and its surrounding disciplines. It will detail how and why protocols are used and which protocol to use when integrating Visual Productions’ solid-state lighting control in your projects.
The Visual Productions Team welcome you to their booth to find out more about the control products that specialize in intuitive cross-platform software and solid-state hardware, which excels in supporting a large suite of protocols for systems integration.
If you would like to book a meeting with Visual Productions during Prolight+Sound, please email your prefered day and time to meet on Stand 3.0 D66.
