A Cuelux release for Ubuntu Linux is now available for download (http://www.cuelux.com/downloads.html).
It is tested on Ubuntu 8.04 and Ubuntu 8.10 for 32bit i386 computers.

The Ubuntu release has software requirements. Please use the Synaptic Package Manager to make sure the following libraries are installed on your system:

- libSDL_mixer-1.2
- libSDL_net-1.2
- libSDL_image-1.2
- libSDL_ttf-2.0

I have just successfully tested Cuelux 0.25 on Ubuntu 9.04.

I have installed it using the following steps:

- download the release from http://www.cuelux.com/downloads/
- right-click the downloaded "Cuelux-0.25.1-Linux-x86-Install" file to Properties->Permissions and enable the Execute checkbox
- double click the "Cuelux-0.25.1-Linux-x86-Install" to execute and follow the instructions on your screen
- start the Synaptic Package Manager to install the packages listed above
- go to Applications->Cuelux and start the Cuelux program

I have no problems with cuelux on my laptop which also has Ubuntu 12.04 but was upgraded from 11.04, probably one of the libraries needed for cuelux is not distributed anymore together with the new ubuntu version.

To install Cuelux on a clean Ubuntu 12.04 LTS you will have to download & install the following libraries:

libboost-system1.42
libicu44
libboost-regex
libboost-filesystem1.42

This will be solved in next release.

Tnx, cuelux installs and runs now. Just one more problem, when exiting it freezes after pressing the power button for two seconds.

hi Sinuz,

Do you think it is related to the show file? In other words, if you have an empty show file does it still hang when you close the application?

We think we located the bug. It seems to only occur when the CueCable is attached. We'll try to fix this issue before the next release in two weeks time.
