ID&T Sensation and TMF Awards
Amsterdam, NL - Tom van den Heuvel used VisualDMX and Matrix Mania! not only at ID&T Sensation VIP rooms at the Amsterdam Arena where he used 74 Pulsar Chroma panels ( 94 x 2 pixels matrix) but also to great effect at the TMF Awards VIP after show party on a LED dance floor.
Tom felt compelled to use VisualDMX because according to him Matrix Mania! is "powerful and very easy to patch and make into a matrix: doesn't matter if its small or big as you can adapt easily and quickly the size and the patterns of the programmed images too".
Party with Bacardi
Rotterdam, NL - During the summer an interactive campaign - “Join the Party with Bacardi”- was launched in Dutch cinemas to promote the Bacardi drink.
The advertisement was filmed in the “Now & Wow” Club in Rotterdam. The recognisable theme of girls and boys partying with Bacardi was used to accompany the additional storyline of the DJ wowing the girl.
VisualDMX was specified as controller for the DJ Booth which boasted a LED wall and thus the necessity of a Matrix controller with the versatility and strengths that are offered by Matrix Mania, the specialised Matrix controller within VisualDMX.
Matrix Mania’s ability to quickly adapt all inbuilt matrix patterns to the red, Bacardi style, colour theme proved very useful and saved the crew valuable time when programming on site.
The LED and VisualDMX equipment was supplied by Amsterdam based rental company PartyTime.
Dutch National Lottery show
Aalsmeer, NL - This May saw VisualDMX testing the wits of contestants vying for the big € 100,000 cash prize on the Dutch National Lottery’s monthly game show: De Staatsloterij.
Producer Endemol asked Visual Productions to programme a special facility in the VisualDMX software that would enable it to control a new game based on the Labyrinth principle. Two 18 square meter platforms of MultiLEDs floor were supplied by Blue Magic rental and project house, located close to the Studio Aalsmeer used for filming the show.
Utilizing the ever popular Matrix Mania! software feature of VisualDMX, the software was programmed to enable a complex route of touching squares travelling from one side to the other of the LED floor, to be hidden from sight until the contestants step on the correct path. VisualDMX was linked via MIDI to a show control system; in the event of a contestant standing on an incorrect square, lights flashed and buzzers sounded signalling for them to start from the beginning again.
The Director requested a path "as difficult as possible" that resulted in a 15 minute marathon session of audience members standing in their seats shouting directions to the contests running back and forth to find the correct route, both out of breath and desperate to be greeted by the flashing lights and applause signalling a win for them.
To join in the Labyrinth of fun you can download the latest release of VisualDMX from the website which now includes this new game feature.
VisualDMX at ProLight+Sound 2006
Frankfurt, DE - VisualDMX looks back on a busy week in Frankfurt. The four days at Prolight+Sound allowed us to meet many of our current customers and users, as well as meeting new enthusiastic lighting professionals. Catching up with so many people and having the opportunity to discuss many new projects on the horizon, gave this tradeshow the ideal mix between business and pleasure.
The Stand offered a good test case for the new VisualDMX software version to be demonstrated. The LED tiles from MultiLed, accompanied by moving heads and additional LED strips were used to show the new features of Matrix Mania!
We were impressed by the warm welcome given by the visitors to the Frontier, our new standalone USB-to-DMX interface. The response was so promising that in fact, the first orders have already been placed.
We thank all the visitors for their interest in the VisualDMX range of products. Having spoken to you, we are confident that ahead lies an interesting and challenging season for us all, before meeting again in Frankfurt 2007.
Matrix Mania on Lets Dance
Vilvoorde , BE - Flemish celebrities recently joined the worldwide craze to learn to dance on National TV. Let’s Dance drew large crowds of viewers wishing their favourites success on an exceedingly vibrant dance floor.
The glamorously designed studio setting for Let's Dance incorporated a 48 m2 LED tile floor controlled by VisualDMX's Matrix Mania!. The versatility of Matrix Mania! allowed for the inventive designs and wishes of LD Michiel Milbou to create a perfect platform for the dancers to perform on.
VisualDMX ran on a laptop equipped with 2 x DMX Outputs, covering the amount of channels required and 1 x DMX Input to connect to the Wholehog 2, which was used to programme the studio lights. This allowed operator Dimi Theeuwissen to control, quickly and smoothly, both the studio lights and the dance floor in unison.
VisualDMX and the floor were supplied by Allways Events, Belgium.
VisualDMX lights up Lagotronics HQ
Venlo, NL - Dutch based company Lagotronics, a key player in the LED lighting market, has selected VisualDMX to control its illuminated headquarters. The LEDs integrated into the front face of the building create an astonishing visual effect, an ideal canvas for displaying the colourful VisualDMX Matrix Mania! patterns. It's a true eye-catcher seen from the surroundings and the nearby motorway.
The VisualDMX Matrix Mania! function was used to design the patterns and effects. After programming, the patterns were loaded into an Elite box that can hold up to 8 different patterns. The compact Elite box is from then on used to drive the LEDs, allowing any of Lagotronics' technical or administrative staff to change the appearance of the LEDs through its intuitive user-interface.

Vakbeurs Theatertechniek 2006
Rotterdam, NL – During January 16, 17 and 18 the Dutch biennial theatre trade show Vakbeurs Theatertechniek was held in the Ahoy venue in Rotterdam. It became a wonderful week. Not only did the number of visitors supersede last edition’s, also the atmosphere in which we met all those new and already-known stage professionals was fantastic.
So we look back at a busy stand, also helped by the fast amount of TDE LED tiles creating a perfect showcase for the Matrix Mania! features of VisualDMX, and already look forward to the next edition of Vakbeurs Theatertechniek in 2008.
